Where our films come from

Cineoi only lists films that are in the public domain or released under a licence that permits commercial redistribution: CC0, CC BY and CC BY-SA. Films under non-commercial or no-derivatives licences are rejected automatically, and so is anything with no stated licence.

Every film page names the licence and links to the original source, and the creator is credited next to the player. You are paying for curation, clean-up, compression and convenient delivery. The works themselves remain free under their licences.
